1.3 APOD blog

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/

This is a photograph taken of a meteor which is assumed to be part of the annual Leonid meteor shower, which occurred during November 15th, in Sutherland, South Africa. It was by chance that this photo was captured as the meteor streaked across the dark night sky. Luckily it happened to pass between two clouds and was visible to the camera's flash. The peak of the Leonid meteor shower peaked November 17th when the Earth passed through the stream of dust from periodic comet Tempel-Tuttle. I found this blog most interesting because I am currently doing a project on meteors and comets! In my opinion meteors are some of the most beautiful things one can be lucky enough to see in the sky. =)
